In the 2001-2002 academic year at the undergraduate level of Tourism Management Department, it started teaching activities within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and continued its education activities within the Faculty of Business Administration between 2011-2016. It was transferred to the Faculty of Tourism in 2016. Since 2018, it has been continuing its education and training activities under the newly established Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Tourism. As of 2019, nearly two thousand students graduated. Our graduate students work in different positions such as personnel, chief, department manager, general manager in Istanbul region.
At the postgraduate level, it has started to accept both graduate students with thesis and without thesis in 1998-1999 academic year under the Department of Business Administration under the name of Tourism Management Institute. With the establishment of the tourism management department, it has been transformed into a detached department since 2002 and has been named as the Department of Tourism Management. At the doctorate level, the Tourism Management Institute PhD Program continues to respond to intense demand by accepting students in both the fall and spring semesters of the 2010-2011 academic year. As of 2019, approximately two hundred science experts and nearly fifty science doctors graduated from the Department of Tourism Management. Most of our graduate research assistant at various universities in Turkey, lecturers, assistant professors and associate professors and professors are continuing even now the titles for academic activities.
