From the Head of Department

The need for well-educated tourism managers is not limited to the hotel or travel sector. The rapidly growing number of golf, tennis, wellness and recreation businesses, catering and banquet businesses, organization companies, airline companies, tourism financing companies, consulting companies, online booking platforms, hospitals, dormitories, shopping malls, banks and insurance companies, all of which are active in the service sector, are becoming clear as areas where tourism management graduates are sought.


The Department of Tourism Management is designed to emphasize managerial leadership and is based on a strong business administration education. The main goal is for our graduates to become managerial leaders in the tourism industry. Since work experience is of great importance in the tourism sector, on-the-job training for our students for professional experience has an important place in our curriculum. It is aimed to provide our students with the necessary experience through courses aimed at sectoral education. Thanks to its close cooperation with tourism enterprises operating in Istanbul and Marmara Region, it has provided internship opportunities for its students and employment opportunities for its graduates through mutual information sharing. Founded in 2021, Sakarya Tourism Graduates and Members Association (SATUMED), together with the Sakarya Tourism Graduates and Members Association (SATUMED), cooperation in the field of both practice, internship and employment has been carried to the summit. In this way, it has become one of the rare departments that can provide 70% guaranteed employment to its graduates. In addition, academic research and projects continue to be carried out on the problems of regional tourism. In 23 years, the department has trained approximately 2 thousand undergraduate graduates, 300 master's graduates and 80 doctors of science and has taken root in both the sector and academia. The department was accredited by the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK) in 2020 and registered its quality.
